The air-abrasion Air-Flow (EMS) system is used to:
- - remove tartar;
- - remove colored deposits on the surface of the tooth, including "smoker's stains";
- - clean the tooth surface before installing braces;
- - clean the enamel surface before filling the fissures etc.
The use of Air-Flow (EMS) is most justified to remove tartar and other deposits from the inaccessible areas of the tooth. The principle of operation of this device is based on the effects of a mixture of water and soda fed under pressure.
To remove tartar, supra- and subgingival plaque, and polishing of the root surface, our clinic uses the latest development of the world's leading manufacturers of dental equipment.
After a professional teeth cleaning (removal of tartar and other deposits) and surface polishing, the tooth is covered with fluorine-containing substances.
This procedure is usually carried out in two or three visits.
Professional dental hygiene should be performed periodically; only in this case can the principle of prevention of diseases of the teeth and periodontium be complied with. Depending on the type of dental plaque and the initial state of periodontal tissues, the frequency of visits to the hygienist varies from 3 to 6 months.
